Love is in the One Sweet Song of the Universe

by Susan Wright

The question is: What if it is true that the universe constantly washes us in love wrapped around the sorrow? Could it be true? Could it be that love IS all around and all we need to do is stop and feel it? Is it that simple?

When I began to sink into the two minutes, I felt washed, like a gentle rain, in love, a kind of peaceful, enveloping presence that flowed in and around me. At first, I thought it was around my body but soon I realized it wasn’t just me but everywhere. There were no boundaries but the ones I put up around my self that really didn’t even exist within the flow of love from what?

Where does it come from? Is it just there, like the air we breathe? Hard to say. I just know it is real and mysterious and amazing and settles me down completely. I know the sorrow is there. I can feel that too but it is sheltered, surrounded by love and compassion that eases the burden.

The boundary I draw around my self is interesting. I know we bound ourselves for our own safety, our sense of being real in time and space, but in a sense, with love flowing all around us, if we are closed to it, protecting ourselves from it, we don’t feel its presence. Instead we are our shadows, our darkness, our ego, when the light of love is there, waiting, wanting to flow through us, to bathe us in love and compassion for our suffering.

Does that even make any sense? It does to me. I more and more believe in love as a continuous presence in and around us. We need only pay attention to feel the connection to all things, all nature, all alive with love, ALL dancing to the tune of love, the one sweet song of the universe.
